Clotting factor drop?

I was hospitalized in November 2007 with DVT. I have been on coumadin since then. My doctor wants my clotting factor to be between two and three. I was doing really well until the middle of February, then all of a sudden my clotting factor dropped to 1.1. My doctor increased my dosage. I went back a couple of days later and my factor was up to 1.6. The doctor increased my dosage again and it dropped again to 1.4 yesterday. There have been no changes in my diet or lifestyle. The dose on the prescription label is the same as I've had before. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing my clotting factor to do this?
